Resort Overview
Desire Pearl Resort & Spa Riviera Maya is located in luscious surroundings. Built in 2001 and renovated in 2012 when it converted to Desire Pearl, the 90+ room resort caters to adult couples only in a sensual, clothing-optional environment. The property provides an all-inclusive concept for clothing-optional relaxation. Features include: Luxury ocean view accommodations, all meals, snacks, bar drinks-Beer, wine, alcoholic beverages, activities, theme nights, hotel taxes and tips. Airfare is extra. When you book your Desire Pearl holiday with Castaways, your round trip airport transfers are included. Restrictions apply.

Getting There
Desire Pearl is about 20-25 minutes south of the Cancun airport on the beach north of a fishing village called Puerto Morelos, the location of the original Caribbean Reef Club many of you may have visited. Puerto Morelos, a non-touristy town of about 3.000, is the first settlement south of Cancun city. Another popular tourist area, Playa del Carmen is another 20-30 minutes further south of the resort - so you're secluded but close to most things for night life and shopping.
Passports are required for international air travel to all destinations outside the USA.
Cancun is a world-class vacation area, served by numerous airlines from North America, South America, and Europe. Both scheduled air carriers, as well as charter flights, fly to Cancun with frequent service from just about anywhere.
Taxis are plentiful at the airport and all major rental car companies are located at the Cancun airport. A shuttle from the airport is provided free of charge by Castaways Travel (exceptions may apply for groups). You can arrange for this shuttle service in advance via Castaways Travel. NOTE: If you make your own way to the resort, taxi rates are typically fixed prices for transportation to/from the airport. Puerto Morelos has taxis that serve the Desire Pearl Resort, just a few minutes from the town's square.
Water taxis to and from Cozumel are also available from the local port, from Playa del Carmen, and from Cancun. Water taxi tickets can be purchased right at the dock. High-speed water taxi service is available from the pier in downtown Playa del Carmen. Frequent bus service to other parts of Mexico is also available in Playa del Carmen at the terminal located downtown on 5th Avenue and Juarez Street.

Group Trips
If you are unsure of a destination, or not sure if you will easily meet people when you get there, our group trips are the perfect answer. We’ve been there, we know what to do, where to go, and generally how to get the most for your dollar. PLUS... most of the time we have special contract rates for our Group Trips (but you have to contact us directly as these prices do not show up in the online booking engines.
Sightseeing
With the hotel close to everything, you can choose from many activities when you leave the resort. Desire Pearl Resort & Spa Riviera Maya Tour Desk can book your off-site tours such as diving, dive with the dolphins, city tours, shopping in Cancun or Playa del Carmen, couples only tours and many more alternatives. Here's just a partial list of things to do:
Shopping in Cancun, cruising the bars/discos/clubs in Playa del Carmen or Cancun, snorkeling and swimming in the natural lagoons at Xcaret or Xel-ha to the south, visiting the Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza to the northwest or Tulum to the south, fishing or diving on the Mayan Reef, the second-longest barrier reef in the world, extending all the way to Belize. Optional escorted tours with driver and guide can be arranged at the resort, with transportation that will pick you up right at the resort for your guided tour.
Or, choose to swim with the Atlantic bottlenose dolphin just off the beach or ride horseback in the nearby jungle. If you want to see more of the area, you can go down to Playa del Carmen and catch a water taxi to cross the channel to Cozumel for about $12-$15/person/one way (prices subject to change without notice). The trip takes about 30-45 minutes, depending upon the weather….or if the waves are running high. Deep-sea/bill fishing and SCUBA diving can be arranged from the hotel, too. Did You Know...

You can't get lost on 5th Avenue... the street only runs 10-15 blocks and is arguably the "heart" of "Playa." Cancun has its share of nightlife including the Krystal and other night clubs.

↑↑↑ Desire Pearl is one of our personal favorites. Service, quality, an "anxious to please attitude" and constant improvement of the product and experiences is ongoing. Management and staff are overall a cut above most similar resorts.
↑↑↑ Consistency of service, dining experience, sports, entertainment, nightlife, management, and staff is the resort's best asset.
↑↑↑ The physical property itself is one of the most beautiful resorts we've visited. Suites' classic styling lets you know you're in Mexico.

Couples only, 21 years of age +. Most guests average in ages from the early 30s to 60s with most in the middle.
Best Time To Go
Just about year-round. Late summer - August and September - can be more humid and prone to tropical storms in the Caribbean. Also, remember that this is Mexico and while even in the summer months there is usually a cooling breeze off the water, but once you go inland or into town... it can get really hot. Also remember that you're in the tropics so you expect some rain anytime, anywhere, unannounced, year-round.
